BIO
Tyler Madden grew up near Chicago. He first began playing guitar at the age of 12 as a way to impress the girls at his school and, although that part of the plan didn't work out as he had hoped, he never stopped playing. His passion for music continued to develop over the next few years as he played in many different bands of several different genres. Around the age of 18, Tyler tried to actually write his first song and instantly fell in love with the craft. In 2010 Tyler's band, The April Year, was named one of the top 10 unsigned acts in America by PureVolume.com. Shortly thereafter, Tyler earned an Associate's Degree in Music from the College of DuPage, which he followed up with a Bachelor's in Music from Northern Illinois University. There he studied under legendary guitar player Fareed Haque. After finishing college, Tyler moved to Nashville. There, he earned an Audio Engineering Certificate from the Dark Horse Institute. Tyler writes and composes music of all genres and is creating everyday. Tyler is a member of BMI and NSAI. Tyler received two honorable mentions in the 2016 NSAI Song Contest.
